BARBAROS Exported for the First Time to Azerbaijan

The BARBAROS coastal defense system, developed by ROKETSAN, was exported for the first time at the Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition. The system will protect Azerbaijan's coasts and target enemy ships.

Technical Capability and Balances in the Field

ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci defined the primary mission of BARBAROS as acting as a coastal defense system to target hostile ships that have entered territorial waters and to provide a deterrent effect. The system will fundamentally use ATMACA and ÇAKIR missiles. With the ATMACA and ÇAKIR missiles, it possesses the capability to neutralize any platform at sea.

İkinci stated that the systems have the capability to operate independently and integrate into a central command and control system. This ensures that the systems operate with high competence.

ROKETSAN-Azerbaijan Partnership

ROKETSAN also developed AZROKSAN, one of the key projects in defense industry cooperation with Azerbaijan. İkinci stated that they brought AZROKSAN's first production facility to life in an area close to Baku and have started producing 122 rockets.

İkinci also stated that in subsequent stages, they are establishing an infrastructure capable of producing guidance kits, rockets, and all ammunition needed by the Azerbaijani army. He emphasized that the defense industry cooperation between the two brotherly countries creates a strategic advantage.
